A cute and easy ribbon knot!
Even if you've never tied an obi before, it's easy to do. First, decide on the length of the obi. Wrap the obi around your back and determine the length of the part you'll hold in your hand (your hand end). A good guideline is to have it reach from the center of the half-width obi to about your kneecap! Fold the hand end in half and secure it to your collar. Securing it with a dressing clip or clothespin is key to keeping the obi in place. It's also a good idea to secure the beginning of the obi to your torso with a clip! Wrap the obi around your torso once and pull. Fold the end opposite the hand end diagonally inward. Once folded, tie it securely with the knot facing up. Fold the end of the hanging end about 30cm wide to create wings, then fold the center in a mountain shape to form a ribbon. Place your hand end over the folded part and wrap it around. Tuck the remaining obi into the obi wrapped around your torso to hide it. Adjust the shape of the ribbons on both sides, then turn the completed obi behind you to complete it!
Stylish Yukata Beauties at the Sasa Nagashi Festival
"Sasanagashi" is a more sophisticated obi arrangement than Bunko-musubi. Just by changing the size and length of the feathers, you can create a variety of different looks. It's the same as Bunko-musubi up to a certain point! If you feel like you're getting bored, give it a try.
First, fold the ends in half to determine the length. A good guide for the Sasa Nagashi knot is about 50cm. With the ends facing up, wrap the obi around the torso once and pull. After wrapping it twice, tie it so that the knot is at the receiving end. The key here is to tie it firmly and tightly. Tie the hanging end to the right of the knot so that it forms a large feather. Fold the center of the knot to create a ribbon, place the ends over the ribbon and tuck the remaining part inside the torso to hide it. Adjust the overall balance and once it's complete, turn it behind you. With just a little ingenuity, this obi knot is a cuter, more grown-up style than the Bunko knot, and will look great from behind too!!

As the name suggests, this knot is modeled after the shape of a ground cherries. The ribbon feathers flutter gently as you walk, making it sure to stand out. Anyone can easily tie a ground cherries knot and with just a little modification it can look elegant.
First, take the end of your hand and decide on the length. A slightly longer length, around 60cm, is best for the Hozuki knot. After wrapping it around your torso once, tighten it, then wrap it once more, fold the tail diagonally, with the end of your hand facing up, and tie it tightly. Taking your time with this part will prevent the obi from coming undone! However, if you tie it too tightly, it may become uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time, so be careful! Next, shape the tail. Carefully make a figure eight to create the wings. Once both wings are complete, pinch the center, put your hand over it, and pull it out. Insert the remaining part into the torso to hide it, and finally shape it. The key to the Hozuki knot is to make the wings fluffy, so be careful not to flatten the fullness. Once finished, tuck it behind you. Using a reversible obi for an elegant finish is sure to create a sophisticated and cute silhouette that stands out from the crowd!

A little ingenuity makes it look luxurious! For those who want to look chic and sophisticated, we recommend the unusual knot with a horn.
First, wrap the obi around your back and fold the ends in half. The key is to make sure it is long enough to fasten to your collar. Once you have wrapped it around your torso, tie it in a knot with the knot on top. Fold the end of the obi in half and place your ends over it about 30cm from above to make a bow. Pass the end of the obi from under the knot to over the top to make a loop. Repeat this process, overlapping the loops to make a triple loop. Tie the part of the obi that is sticking out from the top with a rubber band and shape it into a petal-like shape. Once you have shaped it, fold it behind you and it is finished. If you are always using too many ribbon arrangements and it is getting a bit stale, then give this a try. It will give you a slightly more mature look from behind and give you a chic and stylish impression.
