Description
This silver netsuke was designed with a focus on a red-crowned crane dancing in a circle.
The crane's wings are spread wide, accented with the symbolic red of its head. The crane is a symbol of Japan and auspicious, symbolizing longevity and prosperity. Since ancient times, it has been used in various designs, including the crane and round crest. This piece takes one such family crest, the Maizuru crest, and turns it into an abstract design for added wearability. The bail is inspired by the Japanese flag, as if dancing with the sun on its back. The polished crane is then smoked, creating a three-dimensional effect and strength in the carefully carved feathers. The crane's distinctive red head is infused with red enamel for a lustrous finish. This simple yet unique accessory is suitable for both men and women, regardless of the season.
