The motif of bones, a vessel that once held life, has been sculpted to the size of a netsuke, meticulously carved down to the finest detail. The oxidized finish tightens the overall design, expressing the beautiful form nurtured in nature. Additionally, tachibana flowers are arranged from the giraffe bones to the bail. The finished piece evokes the reincarnation of living things, as plants, once exploited, reincarnate life from a vessel that has now died. Flowers are also arranged on the underside of the skull, creating a playful design characteristic of Kasu Studio. The flower language of tachibana is "recollection."
