Child Netsuke - Mouse (Kozure Netsuke - Mouse)

Introducing the netsuke of a mouse with its child, which embodies the beautiful bond between parent and child and the love between them.

The rat, a messenger of Daikokuten, is a symbol of prosperity and fertility. Its gentle face, though small, clearly resembles that of a parent. The baby, held in its parent's mouth, curls up and is carried obediently, a behavior known as the "transport reaction," a cooperative behavior. This gesture seems to represent the caring bond between parent and child. The parent rat is polished to a smooth finish, with a soft expression characteristic of silver. The back of its face is adorned with a knot motif, called Omoimusubi, representing the unconditional love a parent gives to their child. The baby, crafted from brass and finished with a pink gold coating, is adorable and curled up, with a childlike expression still reminiscent of a newborn. The parent and baby are separate pieces, allowing them to sway independently when shook, creating a playful design. The jump rings allow it to be added to chains, key chains, jewelry, and hairpins.
