Chrysanthemum Festival

"Chrysanthemum Festival" is another name for the Double Ninth Festival, which falls on September 9th, and is one of Japan's five seasonal festivals.
It was introduced from ancient China during the Heian period and was considered an auspicious day when the largest positive number, "9," appears twice.
This is the time of year when chrysanthemum flowers are in full bloom, and people drink chrysanthemum sake and eat chestnut rice to pray for the health and longevity of their families.
Although it is not well known these days, it is a beautiful traditional event that gives thanks for the autumn harvest and prays for good health.
